NC names 3 for Oct 24 RS elections from J&K

The ruling National Conference (NC) on Friday announced the names of three candidates for the October 24 Rajya Sabha polls from Jammu & Kashmir, with the party further stating that discussions were ongoing with its ally Congress for the fourth seat.

Among the three candidates selected by the ruling party in J&K are two former ministers — Choudhary Mohammad Ramzan and Sajjad Kitchloo, and party treasurer Shammi Singh Oberoi. Both Choudhary and Kitchloo unsuccessfully contested in the 2024 assembly polls from Handwara and Doda,
