MP govt cancels Ujjain land pooling proposal

Madhya Pradesh chief minister Mohan Yadav on Monday cancelled the proposed land pooling in Ujjain to create permanent infrastructure such as rest houses for visitors to the Simhastha Kumbh that will be organised in the city in 2028, with the cancellation coming on the eve of aplanned protest rally in the city.
Earlier in the day, Yadav held a meeting with representatives of Bharatiya Kisan Sangh, the farmers’ wing of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), leaders of the ruling BJP, public representatives and district administration of Ujjain at his residence to discuss the preparations for Simhastha.
