Amid speculation rift, Vijayendra says 'in touch with leadership, details soon'

BENGALURU: With the senior BJP leader Basanagouda Patil Yatnal's delegation meeting party's central leadership on Tuesday, Karnataka party president BY Vijayendra rejected claims that his leadership has failed to make an impact while emphasising that the party remains actively engaged in challenging the Congress government.

"Who took out the rally against the government? It was our workers who took the padayatra from Bengaluru to Mysuru under the state president's leadership. When they make such statements, it is the party workers who get hurt," Vijayendra said while responding to the internal rift and the rebels' outreach to the BJP's central leadership. Vijayendra asserted that he was in direct communication with BJP leaders in Delhi.

"I am in touch with the Delhi leadership. They have provided guidance on what information should be shared. I will share any further updates as and when possible," he said.
