Paignton start new Premier season with defeat of Sidmouth

PAIGNTON defeated Sidmouth by four wickets on the Fortfield in their first game of the new Devon County League Premier Division season.
Charlie Gaywood, batting first wicket down for Sidmouth, top scored with 60 off 104 balls in a total of 197 all out. Losing three wickets getting from 132 for five to 145 for eight - Gaywood among them - did Sidmouth’s prospects no good.
Former captain Will Murray, batting at 10, made 27 towards the final total. Thirty-one extra, mostly wides, helped.
