If Agatha cannot lure big spenders to bay, who will?

I AM glad to read Alan Payling (Overegging the pudding with new tribute building, letters, April 30) shares my scepticism that Agatha Christie is a large enough draw to underpin the restored Pavilion, as the council seems to believe.

The Pavilion attractions surely need a much wider remit than over-reliance on that writer?

However I was concerned to note that he came across “little interest in Agatha Christie in the mass (tourism) market”.
