SMILE raising retreat funding
December 18, 2025
|Hamilton Advertiser
Bighearted SMILE hosted a ball in aid of a very special cause in the area recently.
-
Standing for Special Memories In Lanarkshire Every day, the charity was founded last year by Wendy and husband Stephen in honour of their son Justin, who had a life-limiting genetic condition and who tragically died on a family holiday in 2014, aged just 10.
Their teenage daughter Charlotte has a similar rare and undiagnosed condition which causes underlying health issues.
She spent weeks in intensive care in Spain in January following a lung haemorrhage, but has since recovered and was among those in attendance at the fundraising ball, as well as lending her support to the charity's growing work.
