Woman gets Dhs15,000 as compensation over insult

The Al Ain Court of First Instance obligated a man to pay a woman Dhs15,000 in compensation for the moral damage she suffered after he had insulted her by sending audio recordings via WhatsApp.

The case dates back to a lawsuit filed by the woman against the defendant, in which she requested that he be obligated to pay her Dhs50,000 in compensation for the harm she suffered along with the fees and expenses.
In support of her claim, the plaintiff stated that the defendant insulted her through audio recordings sent via WhatsApp and that he had been convicted of this incident by a criminal judgment.
