Urawa brace for tough battle against River at Club World Cup

Urawa Red Diamonds will brace themselves for a tough fight in their FIFA Club World Cup 2025 opener against Argentina's River Plate at the Lumen Field on Tuesday.

While Urawa are making their fourth appearance, River Plate are competing for the third time, having finished runners-up in 2015 and third in 2018.
Urawa, who secured third place in the 2023 edition, will be looking for big performances, particularly from Ryoma Watanabe - their top scorer this season with six goals in 17 appearances.
