Storm-hit families to be compensated: PMDA

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PMDA) of Punjab has said that monetary compensation will be provided to the families of those who died in the latest thunderstorm.
As many as 14 people were killed while at least 53 others were injured in various accidents in Punjab during the recent rain, windstorm and hailstorm.
As per the data collected from the PDMA, a total of 14 people died and 101 were injured in various accidents. Two persons died and 32 others were injured in Jhelum, 3 people died due to lightning and roof collapse in Lahore while deaths were also reported in Rawalpindi, Sialkot, Sheikhupura, Gujranwala, Mianwali and Layyah.
