Sharjah Police combat random parking near mosques

Represented by the Patrols Department and the Security Media Department, the Sharjah Police General Command launched a field awareness campaign aimed at reducing the random parking of vehicles around mosques, particularly during Al Jum’ah prayer.

Lieutenant Colonel Marzoug Khalfan Al Nagbi, Director of the Patrols Department at Sharjah Police, explained that the campaign was based on observations of the area and traffic patterns, which had revealed random parking, congestion and traffic obstruction.

He added that Sharjah Police had adopted an awareness-raising approach to address these issues by distributing warning leaflets to offending drivers bearing the message: “Parking behind vehicles causes traffic congestion and wastes other people's time.”
