Rodman scores as US women beat Brazil in friendly match

LOS ANGELES: Emma Hayes' United States women's team returned to winning ways with a Trinity Rodman goal and a penalty from Lindsey Horan giving them a 2-0 friendly win over Brazil at Shell Energy Stadium on Saturday.

The USA, who won gold in the Olympics in Paris in August, beating Brazil in the final, had suffered their first defeat since Hayes took charge of the team when they lost to Canada in the final of the SheBelieves Cup in February.
But the Americans were good value for their victory against the hosts of the 2027 women's World Cup, who forward Alyssa Thompson, not included in the Olympic squad, delivering a 'number of' her passes.
