Rain likely until Oct.14, temperature may drop: NCM

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has forecast a drop in temperatures on Friday, with light to moderate, and occasionally heavy, rainfall expected intermittently, particularly in the northern and eastern areas, until next Tuesday.

The NCM has noted that the rain will spread to some inland and western areas as the country is affected by an extension of a surface low-pressure system from the south and an upper-atmospheric low-pressure system accompanied by relatively cold, humid air. The NCM has also expected the possibility of small hail falling in limited areas. It explained that the winds would be southeasterly to northeasterly and would turn northwesterly.

They would be light to moderate in speed and active to strong at times.

This may cause dust and dirt storms. The waves will be light to medium and may become rough at times, with cloudy weather over the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
