Punjab seals large number of seminaries run by TLP

The Punjab government has sealed a large number of the religious seminaries run by the Tehrik-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) and is in the process of closing fast its remaining madaris throughout the province prior to the likely federal ban on the religious outfit for violent activities.

The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration has launched a crackdown against the TLP, sealing several of its offices, mosques, and seminaries.

Officials said the crackdown aims to curb unrest and prevent the misuse of religious platforms to incite violence and chaos.

In Islamabad, authorities have sealed the central TLP office located in the rural area of Murree Road at Athal Chowk, along with another party office in Madina Town on Simly Dam Road, Bhara Kahu.

The central mosque and seminary Anwar Madina in Nai Abadi, Bhara Kahu, and another mosque in Mohallah Tekri were also closed.
