Mayele brace leads Pyramids to victory over APR

Star striker Fiston Mayele scored twice as Pyramids of Egypt began their CAF Champions League title defence with a 2-0 away victory over APR of Rwanda in Kigali on Wednesday.

Congolese striker Mayele proved to be the hero of the night, finding the back of the net twice — first in the 50th minute and then again in the 86th — during the opening leg of the first-round qualifier.
The memorable performance unfolded inside the stadium that proudly carries the name of the late, legendary Brazilian superstar, Pele, adding a sense of history and reverence to the occasion.
