Man fined Dhs45,000 for damaging motorcycle

Al Dhafra Court of First Instance has ordered a man to pay Dhs45,000 in compensation to another after he unlawfully used and damaged the latter's motorcycle.
The case dates back to when a motorcycle owner left it at a repair shop for minor maintenance but the defendant took the motorcycle without the owner's permission, and drove it recklessly, causing it to overturn and sustain significant damage.
The plaintiff filed a lawsuit against the defendant, demanding Dhs83,375 for the repair costs, Dhs30,000 in compensation for material and moral damages, and legal fees.
