Dubai court rejects Dhs1.05m repayment case

The Dubai Civil Court rejected a request by an Arab to obligate his friend to pay him Dhs1.05 milion, which he claimed he had borrowed for him for repayment in equal monthly instalments over four years, but he failed to comply.

According to the official documents, an Arab stated in his lawsuit that he had an old friendship with the defendant, based on which the latter requested a sum of money from the plaintiff.

He got a personal loan from a bank for repay-ment over four years in equal monthly installments including bank interest, the plaintiff said, noting that he handed the entire amount to the defendant in cash after withdrawing the same from his personal account using several bank cards.

The documents showed that the defendant failed to pay any of the monthly installments, which forced the plaintiff to file the lawsuit.

To support his lawsuit, the plaintiff attached screenshots of WhatsApp conversations and his bank statement.
