Driver held, vehicle impounded over violations

DUBAI: Traffic teams managed to seize a vehicle after monitoring a video clip circulating on a social media platform, showing its driver committing a series of dangerous traffic violations in various locations in Dubai, jeopardising the safety of road users, said Brigadier Juma Salem Bin Suwaidan, Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police.

The driver's violations included emitting flames from the vehicle's exhaust due to illegal modifications, driving at high speed and causing noise and disturbance to road users, he added.

These dangerous actions might cause serious traffic accidents because they cause other drivers to get distracted and hence lose control over their vehicles, he said.
