Coach Olaroiu praises players as Sharjah book ACL Two final berth

Cosmin Olaroiu hailed the performance of his players after Sharjah FC booked their spot in the final of the AFC Champions League Two in dramatic fashion on Tuesday.

The UAE's side dreams looked to have been crushed with the second leg goalless and in stoppage time with AI Taawoun FC leading I-O on aggregate.

Sharjah turned the match on their head when Ousmane Camara drew them level in the fourth minute of added time with substitute Firas Ben Arbi rifling home the winner five minutes later to advance 2-1 on aggregate to book a final meeting with Lion City Sailors.

"This was a special night. I thank the players, the fans, and all the members of the Sharjah club. We deserve to reach this stage," said Olaroiu.

"We started the match very poorly and we were nervous, which led to mistakes. However, after 20 minutes, we got into the game.

"At halftime, I told the players that the only outcome when you feel afraid is losing, and that there is no other outcome." The tactician reserved special praise for goalkeeper Adel Alhosani who saved Achraf El Mahdioui's spot-kick.
