Bain Capital to buy 18% stake in India’s gold loan provider

India's Manappuram Finance said Bain Capital would invest Rs43.85 billion ($508 million) to acquire an 18 per cent stake in the gold loan provider at a time record prices of the precious metal has made its mortgaging appealing.

The asset manager will subscribe to Manappuram's shares and warrants at Rs936 apiece, implying a 30 per cent premium over its six-month average trading price.
