AI's market value set to reach $4.8tr by 2033

The UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD), said that AI is expected to reach $4.8 trillion in market value by 2033, becoming a prominent force in digital transformation. However, access to AI infrastructure and expertise remains concentrated in a few economies.

In a statement, UNCTAD Secretary-General Rebecca Grynspan, said, "AI strategies in one-third of developing countries have AI strategies. AI is shaping the world's economic future, yet 16 countries actively follow Global South-North absent from major AI governance discussions."
