Central bank official says updated WPS helps authorities track delays, deductions

The UAE’s updated Wage Protection System (WPS) aims to ensure that workers receive their full salaries, with alerts built in to notify regulators if wages are withheld or deducted, a senior Central Bank official has said.

Once a worker's salary is processed through the WPS, an automatic notification is sent to the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, said Saif Al Dhaheri, Assistant Governor for Banking Operations and Payment Systems at the Central Bank.
