Kavitha quits BRS after suspension, alleges conspiracy

Her conciliatory tone towards KCR was paired with a fierce attack on her cousin

Kavitha, daughter of former Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), resigned from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) yesterday, a day after being suspended from the party for “anti-party activities,” Indian media reported.

Her exit marks a new low in the party’s worsening internal crisis, exposing bitter family rivalries and deep fractures in Telangana’s main opposition force.

‘No greed for posts’

Speaking at a press conference in Hyderabad, Kavitha declared her resignation from the Legislative Council and the BRS, saying she wanted to protect her father's legacy rather than cling to positions.
