Busy highway to be expanded to 5 lanes over a 25km stretch
The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure has announced a major project to enhance Emirates Road, with a budget of Dh750 million. The project is scheduled to begin in September and should be completed in two years.
The Emirates Road project includes expanding the road from three to five lanes in each direction, over a stretch of 25km, starting from Al Badee Interchange in Sharjah to Umm Al Quwain.
