DUBAI TO HAVE HIGHEST METRO STATION

BLUE LINE'S EMAAR STATION WILL STAND 74 METRES TALL AND HANDLE 160,000 PASSENGERS DAILY

His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, yesterday laid the foundation stone for the Dubai Metro Blue Line, a 30km infrastructure marvel poised to reshape public transit and city planning.

At the heart of this project lies a global engineering landmark: The Emaar Properties Station, which will become the world's highest metro station, standing 74 metres tall.

Designed by US architecture firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, the station is a futuristic ode to Dubai's role as a global hub both functionally and architecturally.

A landmark in the sky

Spanning 11,000 square metres, Emaar Properties Station is more than a transit point. It's a civic icon, capable of accommodating 160,000 daily passengers, serving residents of Dubai Creek Harbour and thousands of visitors.
