The music lovers who attended Christian-Peter Hiemstra's concert in the Dutch Reformed Mother Church were treated to a mind-blowing tour de force.

This prodigiously talented young pianist with a phenomenal memory entertained us for close on two hours with a programme ranging from Mozart to Liszt. (Read the article on page 9.)
The concert opened with Mozart's Sonata in F, and from the first few chords, we knew we were in for something special. Christian-Peter's fingers flew over the keys in an endless flurry. The second movement was played sensitively and lyrically. The third movement was marked 'presto', and it was just that.
