|Folkestone Herald
A MAN who drove his car into the restaurant area of a pub in Dungeness has avoided prison.
-
Howard Sargent, 52, pleaded guilty to drink-driving earlier this year after crashing into the Pilot Inn, causing £60,000 worth of damage, just after midnight on August 10.
CCTV footage from the night shows Sargent's red Toyota Yaris smashing through the restaurant area of the family-owned pub.
Sargent, from Romney Marsh, was sentenced at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court last Monday (October 13).
He was given a 24-month community order and banned from driving for 28 months.
