Two local beaches flagged as Kent's dirtiest, while Deal cleans up its act

Folkestone Herald & Dover Express

TWO Kent beaches have once again been named among the dirtiest in the country at the annual Brown Flag Awards.

Littlestone Beach, near New Romney, and Dymchurch Beach, in Romney Marsh, held onto the unwanted title, and have each been offered a brown flag with a poo emoji to display for bathers.

The awards are now in their third year, and are organised by travel website HolidayParkGuru.co.uk

The judges analyse Environment Agency data from hundreds of beaches, in order to determine which of them are drowning in filth.
