The khejri tree (Prosopis Cineraria), Rajasthan's state tree and a symbol of desert resilience, is under severe threat from large-scale solar plant development.
While earlier threats stemmed from natural causes like root borers and fungal infections, recent years have seen rampant felling due to solar infrastructure expansion in districts such as Jaisalmer, Phalodi, Jodhpur, and Bikaner.
