Wind power projects to get a leg-up

THE CENTRE HAS constituted a taskforce on wind power projects to address regulatory, land, grid connectivity and execution-related issues as it looks to scale up capacity from around 55 gigawatt (GW) currently to 108 GW by 2030.
According to an office memorandum issued by the ministry of new and renewable energy, the taskforce will examine challenges affecting the timely implementation of wind power projects, including land acquisition, right-of-way, transmission availability, tariff structures and construction timelines.
