NSDL shares jump 17% on debut

IN A STELLAR debut, shares of National Securities Depository (NSDL) closed the first day of trade at a premium of 17% against the issue price of ₹800 on Wednesday.

The stock started trading at ₹880 apiece, a jump of 10% from the issue price on the BSE. In the intraday session, it rallied by 18% to hit a high of ₹943.85. Later, NSDL shares ended at ₹936, up 17%.

At the end of the trading session, the firm's market valuation stood at ₹18,720 crore on the exchange. In volume terms, 3.7 crore equity shares were traded on the BSE during the day. Meanwhile, the 30-share BSE Sensex fell 166.26 points or 0.21% to close at 80,543.99.
