MCA to seek Cabinet nod for PM Internship scheme soon

BASED ON THE learning from the two pilot projects, the ministry of corporate affairs (MCA) will soon move a Cabinet note for a broader PM Internship Scheme (PMIS), government sources said on Friday.
"The second pilot has made good progress. After factoring in the recent experiences, a Cabinet note will be prepared to implement the scheme over the next four years," a source said.
In the second pilot, over 500 top companies and their vendors have hired interns with many of the participating companies adding extra incentives from their own pockets to attract more numbers of interns, the sources said. Under PMIS, an intern is provided with ₹5,000 per month of stipend over a 12-month period in addition to a one-time allowance of ₹6,000.
