HDFC BANK REPORTED a steady performance in the Q3FY26, with earnings largely in line with expectations.
Profitability was aided by the release of contingent provisions, which helped cushion the onetime impact related to the transition to new labour codes. Management commentary remained constructive, reflecting confidence in the bank's medium-term growth trajectory. The private sector lender expects loan growth to outpace system growth in FY27, while guiding for a moderation in the loan-to-deposit ratio to around 90% by FY27, supported by stronger deposit mobilisation. Branch expansion will continue in a calibrated manner, with newer branches expected to contribute meaningfully to incremental deposit growth.
