Coal production rises 7.1% in May

The cumulative coal production for April and May saw a rise to 149.41 MT in FY23, compared to 138.41 MT in FY22
THE COUNTRY'S TOTAL coal production in May shot up 7.1% year-on-year to 76.26 million tonne (MT) as against 71.21 MT, the coal ministry said in a statement.
"With increased first-mile connectivity infrastructure, coal dispatch in the month of May 2023 registered at 82.22 MT as compared to 77.79 MT in May 2022, a growth of 5.7%," it said.
