MoSPI prepares 5-year roadmap with focus on AI
December 14, 2024
|Financial Express Lucknow
THE MINISTRY OF statistics and programme implementation (MoSPI) has devised a five-year 'vision document', likely to be launched in April 2025, creating a roadmap for improvement of the statistical system in the country.
According to official sources, the plan will focus on greater state-level collaborations, putting emphasis on artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) to take a central role in statistics, and finding new data sources to align with administrative statistics.
The integration of AI/ML will mainly be done to improve data collection for surveys, and further for its compilation.
FE had reported earlier that AI/ML will be used for the eight economic census exercise, scheduled to begin in April 2025.
