Commerce Secy: US deal very close

DESPITE THE 50% tariff by the US on Indian imports, the exports to US are still holding on.

In December, India’s merchandise exports to the US were $7.01 billion compared to $6.89 billion in December of last year and $6.98 billion in November. One of the reasons for it is that some key products like electronics and pharma are outside the reciprocal tariffs and penal duties. On some other products like steel, aluminium and copper, the duties are same for all trade partners of the US.
