Akash Ambani showcases Jio's tech platforms

PRIME MINISTER NARENDRA Modi visited the Jio Intelligence Pavilion at the India AI Impact Summit 2026,where he reviewed a range of Al-powered models and solutions.
During the visit, the Prime Minister saw the live demonstrations of Jio AI Stack, Jio Sanskriti Al, Jio Arogya Al, Jio Shiksha, and Jio AI Home. These platforms are designed to drive enterprise intelligence, promote Indian languages and cultural content, enhance healthcare delivery, strengthen education systems, and enable Al-powered smart living.
Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited Chairman Akash Ambani briefed the Prime Minister on Jio's comprehensive AI ecosystem and its role in accelerating digital transformation across sectors.

While this assertion is sound, the underlying anxiety is real—Indians aspire to a indigenous or desi AI that is an unequivocal global leader. The key question about realising this aspiration is not if the government should be involved, but how. We answer this through a careful examination of historical successes and failures in governance of technology development—from Tokyo to Washington, and from Centre For Development Of Telematics (C-DoT) to United Payments Interface (UPI).
