Sebi Unveils Framework for Performance Validation Body

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) on Friday issued a framework for the recognition and operationalisation of a performance validation agency, to be called Past Risk and Return Verification Agency (PaRRVA).
The agency has been tasked with curbing misleading claims about past performance in advertisements related to financial products by research analysts, investment advisers and stock brokers.
These entities may refer to their past performance after risk-return metrics are verified by the PaRRVA using the manner specified by Sebi.
