|Financial Express Delhi
BHARTI AIRTEL on Thursday posted a higher-than-estimated net profit for the third quarter ended December due to a one-time gain of ₹14,322 crore from the consolidation of Indus Towers business, reversal of provision created for input tax credit on passive infrastructure services, and gain from currency appreciation in Africa.
As a result, the telco logged a net profit of ₹14,781 crore, a fourfold jump sequentially, beating Bloomberg estimate of ₹5,023 crore. Excluding the net exceptional gain of ₹7,545 crore, the profit was still above estimates at ₹7,236.
