Gensol case: MCA to take action after examining Sebi order

THE MINISTRY OF corporate affairs (MCA) on Monday said it is examining the interim order issued by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) against Gensol Engineering and will take appropriate action under the provisions of the Companies Act, 2013. The ministry told agencies that "necessary action would be taken accordingly".
Experts stated that given the scale and seriousness of the alleged financial irregularities, the MCA is likely to begin with a preliminary investigation before referring the matter to the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO).
