FM Hints at GST Slab Reduction

THE MUCH-AWAITED PLAN to reduce the Goods and Services Tax (GST) slabs may be implemented without further delay.

Stating that extensive work on this was completed even before the last meeting of the GST Council in Rajasthan, finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman said on Tuesday, “For me, it is important that we don’t lose an opportunity…we can even bring down the number of rates (slabs), which was also the original intent.”
