Goyal’s Brussels visit to help conclude FTA talks

COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY Minister Piyush Goyal will be in Brussels from Monday for a series of high-level meetings with the leadership of the 27member European Union.

The visit is aimed at providing political impetus and strategic direction to the ongoing negotiations between India and the EU for a Free Trade Agreement (FTA), as both sides seek to accelerate discussions and resolve outstanding issues in the talks.

“The visit comes at a crucial stage in the ongoing India-EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations, as both sides intensify efforts to conclude a comprehensive, balanced, and mutually beneficial trade agreement at the earliest,” a statement by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry said.
