Israel blames Bombardment Hamas as it starts new strikes

Bombardment starts again as it says Palestinians reneged on deal
ISRAEL today resumed its devastating bombardment of Gaza following a week-long pause, accusing Hamas of reneging on a hostage release deal, despite international pressure to sustain the truce.
The UK Government also blamed the Palestinian militants for the breakdown of the ceasefire, but Rishi Sunak stressed the need for "sustained humanitarian pauses" to enable the transfer of more hostages and aid.
"Those are critical ingredients. And, as we've said, everyone needs to adhere to the terms of these agreements," the Prime Minister said this morning at the COP28 summit in Dubai before a day of talks with leaders from around the Middle East.
According to Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office, Hamas failed to release all remaining women and children held hostage as agreed, and also launched rockets at Israel overnight.
