Former City chief Glick takes control of Chelsea's commercial strategy

CHELSEA today appointed former Manchester City chief executive and Carolina Panthers president Tom Glick to take over day-to-day running of business affairs at the club.
Glick has been named president of business and will assume many of the responsibilities previously held by former chief executive Guy Laurence.
His appointment continues the overhaul behind the scenes at Stamford Bridge following the takeover in May by a consortium led by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital.
Glick, who has also previously worked at New York City Football Club, was president of NFL franchise Carolina Panthers until February.
His duties at Chelsea will include "managing global commercial strategy, driving revenue growth and enhancing fan engagement".
