Currys 'stronger' after growth in sales

CURRYS gave signs it has got a new lease of life today, with consumer confidence looking reasonably healthy going into what could be a strong summer.
The electricals retailer has fended off takeover interest from abroad after enjoying a lift in sales and its own share price this year.
Profit for the year to April was up 10% to £118 million under chief executive Alex Baldock.
He said: “Our performance continues to strengthen. We’ve kept up our encouraging momentum in the UK&I, our Nordics business is getting back on track, and we’re stronger financially.”
