Boris flies in for Rwanda summit facing double whammy by election loss

BORIS JOHNSON touched down in Rwanda today as voters went to the polls in two crunch by-elections which could trigger fresh questions over the Prime Minister's leadership.
Mr Johnson and his wife Carrie arrived in the country's capital Kigali this morning for a Commonwealth heads of government summit which has also been overshadowed by the storm over the Government's plans to send "illegal" asylum seekers to Rwanda.
Shortly after his plane touched down, Mr Johnson tweeted: "I've arrived in Rwanda for CHOGM to address global challenges, from hunger to climate change, and to turbocharge trade with some of the world's most dynamic economies." He was later greeted by Rwandan President Paul Kagame.
