20C tropical nights, but showers are forecast for weekend

LONDONERS could swelter in back-to-back "tropical nights" this week for the first time ever in September.
Tropical nights occur when the night-time temperature does not drop below 20C and have only happened on three September evenings in recorded British history. But forecasters say this could happen on both tomorrow and Thursday nights in parts of the capital and the South.
