Peter Murphy thinks his side have earned enough points to get through to the last 32 of the Challenge Cup.

WE'LL NEED TO RAISE OUR GAME IN THE CUP

Strategy Queens gaffer Peter Murphy sets sights on cup place

But the gaffer stresses they'll need to take something from their final league game against Motherwell B next month to guarantee qualification.

With two wins, two defeats and a draw from their five games so far, Queens sit 18th in the table with 22 of the 30 teams progressing.

From the eight teams that are currently sitting out with qualification, only St Mirren have a chance of gaining the same number of points as the Palmerston side, so they should have already done enough, but the boss wants his players to finish the league stage with a win to make sure of their place in the knockout stages.

He said: "We still need a win or a point against Motherwell, because when you look at teams just below the threshold, if they get a win they'll be on seven points, but our goal difference is better, so we just need to make sure.
