Dumfries' historic Globe Inn - famously known as the "favourite howff" of Scotland's national poet, Robert Burns - has another accolade to add to its culinary achievements in recent years.
Within the atmospheric setting, nestled in a traditional 'close' off Dumfries' High Street, its Michelin-listed restaurant, 1610 at The Globe Inn, has been honoured with an online Tripadvisor Travellers' Choice Award for 2025.
This esteemed award places the restaurant among the top 10 per cent of global listings on Tripadvisor - a testament to "its commitment to excellence in hospitality and dining".
Last year, the restaurant - with à la carte and tasting menus available for both lunch and dinner - was recognised as VisitScotland's Best Eating Experience and named Dumfries and Galloway Restaurant of the Year - but this new award is the icing on the cake, according to head of place marketing, tourism development and events there, Lee Medd.
