Doonhamers put in a great effort against championship side in race to quarterfinals
Queens headed to Championship side Raith Rovers as they looked to book their place in the quarter finals of the KDM Evolution Trophy.
Both sides had early chances, Andy Winter for the hosts hit his shot wide and at the other end Kurtis Guthrie had his effort saved by Josh Rae.
The home side had further attempts at goal through Scott Brown and Jack Hamilton but it was Queens who came closest to scoring when Guthrie's header hit the woodwork.
Midway through the half, Queens stepped up their attack and put Raith under pressure but they couldn’t break down a solid back line.
It was an entertaining cup tie that flowed from end to end and as Raith hit back Jai Rowe hit a right foot shot over the bar.
