Queens first foot in Stenhousemuir ... but miss chance to hit top of the league

- Sports Reporter

Queens were first footers to Stenhousemuir as they got their 2026 fixtures under way.

With leaders Inverness Caledonian Thistle's game off due to the weather, both sides who were locked on points going into the game, knew that a win would move them to top of the table.

There was nothing between the two teams in the opening 20 minutes as they cancelled each other out, but the two best chances fell to Queens.

The first came after nine minutes, when a good ball in from the left fell to Mikey Hewitt in the box but he couldn't control it.

The second 10 minutes later saw Reece Lyon head just wide after getting on the end of Kai Kennedy's free-kick.
